Yes, hypnosis is considered very safe when conducted by a trained, qualified hypnotherapist. It’s a non-invasive process, and you remain in control, unable to be forced to do anything against your will. Extensive long-term research has primarily identified temporary dizziness as a potential, yet rare, side-effect.

No, you cannot get stuck in hypnosis. If left alone, you’d either return to a normal state of awareness or fall asleep and wake up naturally.
No, you cannot be made to do anything that violates your morals or values. Hypnosis requires your consent and cooperation, and you retain control over your actions. The idea that a hypnotist has this type of control comes from Stage Hypnosis shows, which look very dramatic, but where participants have been carefully selected ensuring they’ll be willing to go along with the act.
