The power of Your morning routine

Each and every day you get the opportunity to prime yourself for success. In hypnotherapy we work to quieten the conscious mind to prime your subconscious for change, but did you know that each morning as you wake up, you are also in a similar cognitive space. Those first few moments in the morning, just as you’re waking up, are peak times to reprogram yourself.

Unfortunately, many people use this precious time to prime themselves for anxiety by doom scrolling on social media, checking the news, or diving into work emails. But you’re not ‘most people,’ and with a few simple changes, you can transform your mornings—and your life.

Steps to craft the perfect morning routine

  1. Avoid Your Phone for the First Hour (or More)
    One of the worst ways to start your day is by immediately engaging with your phone. The barrage of notifications, news, and social media can trigger stress and anxiety before you’ve even had breakfast. Instead, place your phone in another room, like the bathroom or lounge, to resist the temptation.
  2. Practice Morning Gratitude
    Begin your day by thinking of three things you’re grateful for. This simple practice trains your subconscious to focus on positivity, which can reduce anxiety and increase overall happiness. Over time, you’ll notice that your mind naturally gravitates towards positive thoughts throughout the day.
  3. Recite Targeted Affirmations
    Affirmations aren’t just feel-good statements; they’re powerful tools for reprogramming your brain. Think of affirmations as new software you’re installing in your mental operating system. Choose a small set of affirmations that resonate with your goals and repeat them each morning. This practice can help shift your mindset and align your actions with your desires.
  4. Engage in a Nourishing Activity
    Dedicate time each morning to an activity that you know nourishes your body, mind, or soul in some way. Whether it’s reading, stretching, exercising, or meditating, choose something that brings you joy and fulfillment. The glow from this action will stay with you through the day.
  5. Incorporate Hypnotherapy Techniques
